Associate

Alia is a compassionate and driven registered clinical psychologist with a deep-rooted passion for both mental health and athletic performance. With a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (Honours) from Taylor’s University, Alia blends clinical expertise with personal experience as a former state-level swimmer and multi-sport athlete—including athletics, volleyball, and dance.

Her unique background allows her to connect authentically with athletes and performers, understanding firsthand the psychological demands of training, competition, and recovery. Whether working within an elite or youth setting, Alia is committed to creating a space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential—mentally and physically.

Alia brings professional experience across diverse settings—from corporate wellness to education systems and community mental health. She has supported a wide range of individuals with challenges including anxiety, performance pressure, trauma, and life transitions, while also helping clients strengthen resilience, build confidence, and enhance mental clarity under pressure.

Her therapeutic approach is holistic and evidence-based, grounded primarily in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with integration of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and other performance-focused strategies. Alia values collaboration, tailoring each intervention to the unique context of the individual or team.

With strong skills in reflection and decision-making, Alia excels in analyzing complex situations to guide people toward effective, sustainable change. Her practice is rooted in empathy, inclusivity, and the belief that mental strength is just as trainable as physical skill.
